World model companies have the funding. They do not have a public product story. TechCrunch reporter Russell Brandom moderated a world models panel at the All In conference and found the two dominant players, AMI Labs and World Labs, unwilling to explain their commercial direction.
AMI Labs co-founder and VP of World Models Michael Rabbat offered the clearest answer available: 'We'll talk about it when we're ready to talk about it.' In follow-up email he added the company is 'still in a research and building phase.' World Labs, led by Fei-Fei Li, ranks similarly low on commercial disclosure. The underlying technology targets spatial intelligence, with potential paths into robotics, interactive video, and self-driving systems.
The pattern matters for buyers and partners evaluating either company. Capability exists. Commercial commitment does not. Anyone building on or around these platforms is working without a roadmap.
